Challenge
The focus on this innovative design was to create panels equal to a specific raised elevation in lieu of using extrusions. Materials consisted of 1/8” Mill Finish Aluminum.
The challenge was to create oversized panels with interior angles fastened to an interior formed panel at a very specific angle to create uniformity (star shaped), all points coming into a “zero” point of intersection.
The difficulty was to maintain an integral heart without exposed welds. Interior angles had to be at a set angle/dimension making welding extremely difficult. The welding heat had to be strictly regulated in order to stop warpage and deflection, resulting in maintaining very sharp angles and long extended mitres.
